11: Keys

posted in: calendar 0
As artists, we all work with creativity and I wrote a little about what creativity is during the letter C in day 3 of this calendar.

But how do you find the keys to your own creativity, which is fundamental to your artistic creations? What kind of keys do you use to unlock your own barriers and help your own natural creativity to come the best way?

To me it’s a lot about getting in the right mood, which can take a lot of time. That is also working time because it is important for it to be a good output of it. I do not create my horses in a craft-like way, where each horse is similar to the previous one, though sometimes I create several horses on the same theme. I always have to find a new approach to my work and creativity.

Sometimes I use music to get into the right mood, sometimes I read something, sometimes I start a fire in the fireplace and sit down daydreaming while watching the flames, sometimes I browse newspapers, sometimes I meditate and sometimes just sit down in the studio and let my hands work while watching what’s happening.

It also depends on how much I know about what I want to create. Important to me is that I must not be stressed out, because if I get the feeling that I’m in a hurry, it’s a key that locks creativity down.
I want my creativity to be unlocked and free from all external interference so that I can use it to create.
It’s great when you succeed in reaching a creative flow and just can enjoy how ideas and solutions to different issues come to you. It’s like finding the right pieces in a complex puzzle.

This is a December calendar with brief views in alphabetical order throughout advent, over Christmas and until New Year’s Eve. Every day is a new word.
I am very interested in your thoughts on these subjects. Please share them in the comments field below. <3
