Now when the contour and the outlines are in the right places, it is time to make the shape of the body. For that I can use scrap clay, because it will not be visible when I finish by covering the horse with thin sheets of brown clay.
The challenge is to not only make the body of the horse three-dimensional, but also to add depth. It should look like the head and the front legs are closer than the hind legs.
I make my own horse’s eyes in a very simple way. They are made of small pieces of black clay that is cured.
