I always look forward to the moment when I can place the mane and tail on the horse that I have created. You see, horses are like people – they look completely different with hair and without hair.
It is so exciting – I have worked for a long time with the horse’s shape, color and pattern, but when its tail and mane comes into place the horse’s real personality is shown for the first time.
For this horse, I used the same colors as in the canes on the body.
I always have a hard time when I should place them because I have to cut in the horse’s body. Yes, I know the horse is not alive, and I know that it does not hurt, but it still feels as if I’m doing something that should hurt.
But I forget it when I finally get to see how proud and happy the horse is with magnificent mane and tail.
