This is the start of a new horse with long legs. These are the four legs. I covered bamboo skewers in black polymer clay and prebaked them.
The reason I prebake the legs is that they have to support the weight of the horse while I am creating it. If I do not prebake the legs there is a big risk of making some kind of damage to them while sculpting the shape of the horse. IT is also easier to sculpt the tiny little hooves that this horse eventually will get.
