This is a December calendar with brief views in alphabetical order throughout advent, over Christmas and until New Year’s Eve. Every day is a new word.
I am very interested in your thoughts on these subjects. Please share them in the comments field below. <3

Creativity

Creativity is closely connected to artistry. But what is creativity?

Many people would answer that creativity is imagination, ability to find new things and to constantly get a lot of ideas.

I think that it’s only part of it. Creativity is about solving a problem in a new way that also works. To me creativity is to really take advantage of this ability to think new thoughts in order to create something that becomes a wholeness. Mostly, you need a lot of knowledge to be creative. The more knowledge you have, the more creative you can be, because you have a greater source of ideas and inspiration.

For example, sitting down and painting with different colors on a canvas in different patterns can be very “new” because no one has ever painted in that way before. But that doesn’t mean it is creative.

Creativity in painting is when the things that you paint in some way cling together form something that has a meaning. Creativity is to – out of everything everything that exist in chaos – find what’s relevant to your project. Then you make some sort of order out of this chaos – in a totally new way, like no-one else has done before.

So to me, a person who constantly finds completely impervious and loose ideas is not a creative person. To me, a creative person is a person who gets new ideas that can be implemented in some way.

What is creativity to you?
